Argentum is an asset manager specialising in investments in Nordic and energy-focused private equity funds. The company was established in 2001, to contribute to efficient capital markets for unlisted companies, and is wholly owned by the Ministry of Trade and run on a commercial basis.
Over the past decade, Argentum has built a sound investment model, extensive knowledge and experience of the private equity markets and a strong specialised organisation. Argentum prides itself with delivering returns on par with the best European fund managers, and has delivered an average annual return of 15.9 percent since inception (as of Q2 2012).
Argentum currently has NOK 10 billion under management, whereof two thirds are managed on behalf of the Norwegian Government and one third on behalf of private investors investing through the Argentum investor programmes, such as the Nordic Private Equity Programme and Argentum Investment Partner. Argentum is an associated member of the Norwegian Association for Private Equity and Venture Capital (NVCA) and the Danish Venture Capital and Private Equity Association (DVCA), and a full member of the European Private Equity and Venture Capital Association (EVCA), and the Swedish Private Equity & Venture Capital Association (SVCA) . Argentum is also member of Norsif, the Norwegian Forum for Responsible Investing, and a participant of the UN Global Compact. Argentum has 21 employees and is headquartered in Bergen, with offices in Oslo and Stockholm.
