Sigma Offshore receives cash injection of USD 6 million

Sigma Offshore, which has developed a pioneering mooring and fluid transfer system for oil and gas production vessels, has secured funding of USD 6.1 million. Investors include global oil company National Oilwell Varco, Scottish Enterprise's Scottish Venture Fund and venture capital firm, Energy Ventures.

This finance round signifies a second-time investment by Scottish Venture Fund and a third by Norwegian private equity fund Energy Ventures.

The new capital will allow Sigma Offshore to continue with its worldwide push and development of its innovative Smart Mooring System (SMS) and its other mobile production solutions. The company has targeted SMS for markets in Gulf of Mexico, South America, West and North Africa, the North Sea, South East Asia and Australian waters.
