Index Ventures and Dawn Capital fund Mimecast
Index Ventures annd Dawn Capital have invested GBP 13 million in British ICT company, Mimecast, in a series B financing round.
Mimecast, founded in 2003, offers a cloud based platform that extends the capabilities of in-house email systems by incorporating bottomless storage, archiving, eDiscovery, spam/virus protection and continuous availability. Consequently, the platform removes the need for several in-house solutions, which significantly reduces costs and security risks.
Mimecast's business has proved robust during the recession, the company having experienced triple digit revenue growth in each of the last 3 financial years. The company supports a global costumer base, featuring 2 500 costumers across a number of sectors and continents.
The funding will be used to further research and development and the company´s market presence.
