KMD is a leading Danish provider of complex and efficient IT solution, mainly for the Danish municipalities, but has increasingly expanded into both the state and corporate markets.

The firm has around 3.000 employees and revenue was above DKK 3.2 billion in 2007.

 Both EQT and ATP consider the recent acquisition to be an attractive business with a unique market position.

In taking over the ownership, EQT and ATP aim to build on KMD’s strong existing platform and on the company’s current strategy. The investors expect that their focused approach can enhance KMD’s revenue and earnings substantially over the coming years. They expect an ownership period of 3–7 years and that at that point the company can become a strong IPO candidate.
