• Total investment levels soared in the second quarter and also the buyout segment saw a revival of buyout activity.
• The Nordic market is also outperforming the European market in terms of investment activity.
• Average transactions sizes remain historically low. The venture market thus far in 2010 has been characterized by smaller, often government-backed venture and seed transactions.
• There is still a strong secondary trend with 18 percent of all exits in this quarter falling into the secondary transaction category - a trend which is mirrored internationally, as well as in Europe.
• The long anticipated return of the IPO markets finally occurred in the second quarter with three Nordic companies listing on Nordic stock exchanges.
• Despite a slow start to the year, Nordic fundraising activity has picked up and so far in 2010 the majority of fundraising has been done in the second quarter.
