Sunstone Capital raises new life science fund

Sunstone Capital has held the first close of its new life science fund, raising DKK 660 million. The fund will invest in biotech companies in Denmark and the Nordics.

Among the investors in the fund are the European Investment Fund, Dansk Vækstkapital, Industriens Pension and Vækstfonden. Sunstone expects to raise a total of DKK 750 million during 2012.

The fund will invest in around 20 new innovative biotech companies and will increase Sunstone Capital's portfolio of biotech companies to close to 50 companies.
