Argentum's database tracks deal transactions in the Nordic private equity market. We track deals done by approximately 140 funds, and primarily deals done in the Nordic market.
We classify deals by type of transaction:
Acquisition: a company is bought by a private equity firm (or several) and becomes part of their portfolio.
Trade sale: a portfolio company is sold to another company in the same or a similar market.
Add-on: a portfolio company acquires another company.
Finance round: a portfolio company receives further financing from existing investor funds, new investor funds or both.
IPO (Initial Public Offering):a portfolio company becomes listed on a stock exchange and becomes a publicly owned company.
Secondary Transaction: a private equity fund purchases another fund's portfolio which usually consists of investments into several companies.
We register deal dates to match the date of the deal's press release. The is because we cannot know the exact date the deal was done.
